Young Artists' Studio Join anytime. Classes are Fridays – June 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th July 5th, 12th, 26th (no class July 19th) August 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th Time: 1:45 pm – 3:45 pm Age 10 and UP (students younger than 10 are welcome to come and see if this class will work for them) Cost: $15 per session for members/$22.50 per session for non-members, or 4 sessions for $50 for members/ 2 4 sessions for $75 for non-member. Note: Occasionally, Paul does have students work in clay; parents will need to pay for clay and firing charges. Ask instructor for details. Maximum: 10 Class Description: Young people come to an open studio setting to learn and refine artistic skills with artist instructor Paul Hoelscher. The idea behind this ongoing class is to help young people make art the way that most interests them, with an artist who believes that everyone is artistic and who has enough personal experience to be supportive of many media and techniques. Media include acrylic, oil, and watercolor paint, soft and oil pastels, charcoal, graphite, conte`, colored pencil and clay sculpture. Come and create – the sky’s the limit!

Watercolor for Young Students Instructor: Becky Litke Date/Time: 3 dates to choose from Saturdays, March 14th, April 18th or May 9, 10:00 am – noon Age Requirements: 8 and up Maximum # of students: 10 Course cost per series: Members $16 Non-members $24 Course Description: Students will learn the basics of watercolor painting. Each class will include instruction on composing a complete painting in watercolor. Each month will be a different subject to paint. All supplies will be provided which will include all paper, paint, brushes & subject reference. Children should be dressed in older clothing, (this could be messy at times). Class size is limited so sign up early.

Beginner Ballet 1 – Ages 6-9 years Instructor: Debbie Friedman Dates: Wednesdays – January 8 – February 19 (no class January 22) Time: 4:15 – 5:15pm Age Requirements: 6 - 9 years Min #of students: 5 Max # of Students: 10 Supplies: Tights, leotard & ballet slippers Course cost: $48 for members/$72 for non-members (6 hours of instruction) This class is all about basic classical ballet technique for young beginning dancers. We will focus on standard positions and simple movements at the barre, in center and across the floor. This is a great opportunity to explore musicality and self expression while building strength and gaining flexibility and confidence.

Advanced Beginner Ballet – Ages 8-12 years Instructor: Debbie Friedman Dates: Thursday, January 9 – February 20 (No class on January 23) Time: 4:15 – 5:15pm Age Requirements: 8 - 12 years (1-2 years previous training) Min #of students: 5 Max # of Students: 10 Supplies: Tights, leotard & ballet slippers Course cost: $48 for members/$72 for non-members (12 hours of instruction) This class will prepare dancers for more complex movements and some choreography but will still focus on correct placement and ballet technique. Strength, flexibility, fluidity and design/line components will all be included in this expression of the “inner ballerina”

Sleeping Beauty Pre-Ballet Workshop Instructor: Dianne Guzzle Date/Time: Monday – March 9th, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Tuesday – March 10th, Thursday – March 11th, Friday – March 12th 10:30 – 11:30 Last day to join class: March 7th Age Requirements: 3-5 years Minimum # of Students 5 Maximum # of students: 10 Course cost per series: Members $40 Non-members $60 (In order to keep the cost of this course affordable for our young families, this course is being partially funded through a private donor) Course Description: Come and explore the storybook ballet of Sleeping Beauty with fun and educational movement activities! Each day dancers will learn basic movement concepts and practice basic ballet technique. Each day dancers will learn basic movement concepts and practice basic ballet technique. Each class will include a warm up, creative dance exploration activities as well as movement activities to practice dance skills. Dancers will also learn a dance to music from Sleeping Beauty. During the end of the last class, dancers will present to family and friends concepts they have learned as well as their Sleeping Beauty dance! Ballet slippers recommended.
