ArtSpeak

Through the ArtSpeak Project, there are several outreach classes which have been meeting on a regular basis. We offer dance classes twice a week at South Baker Elementary and art classes three times a week. One of the on-going advanced dance classes which has been dancing for several years, now meets at Crossroads instead of South Baker School. This class meets once a week. Some advanced ArtSpeak students are placed on scholarship in the tuition classes so they may continue to train more frequently.

We offer an eight-week program at North Baker School both in dance and the visual arts. Through a partnership with New Directions Northwest, we have been teaching regular art therapy classes at Recover Village and Elkhorn Adolescent Treatment Facility. These classes are offered five times a week and the curriculum is varied. Debbie Friedman teaches art, dance, theatre, creative writing and a variety of art and craft techniques (painting, beading, watercolor, clay and batik).
