Recommended ages: 11 - 16

Young people come to an open studio setting to learn and refine artistic skills with artists/instructor Paul Hoelscher. The idea behind this ongoing class is to help young people make art the way that most interests them, with an artist who believes that everyone is artistic and who has enough personal experience to be supportive of many media and techniques. Media include acrylic, oil, and watercolor paint, soft and oil pastels, charcoal, graphite, colored pencil, and clay sculpture. Come and create the sky is the limit!

Celtic Knots – Circle Design Instructor: Ginger Rembold Date/Time: February 6, 2020 6:00pm – 8:00pm Location: Crossroads Downstairs Studio Age Requirement: Ages 12 and up Cost: $10 Members and $15 for Non-Members. Supplies: Students should bring pencil, eraser, and a black Sharpie pen. Course Description: Discover the fun of creating Celtic Knotwork designs on your own using grids and dots as your guide. This class will focus on Circle Designs. The process taught in this class is fairly simple with great results. Use it to make personalized cards, posters, etc. OR as a new meditative practice!

Equipment needed: Students should bring a pencil, eraser, and a black Sharpie pen

Batik Basics Instructor: Ginger Rembold Date/Time: February 13, 2020 5:00pm – 8:00pm Location: Crossroads Downstairs Studio Cost: $15 for members/ $22.50 for nonmembers Supply Fee: $5 per participant Ages: 12 and up Course Description: This is an introductory class of the Indonesian and Indian art of batik, which combines a wax resist process, dye, and fabric. This class will involve hot wax and will run for 3-4 hours. Participants should bring a simple design idea with white, black, and one color, plus a sack dinner and drink. Dye, wax, fabric and tools all provided.

Recommended ages: 11 - 16

Class Dates: December 12th and 19th, January 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd,30th, February 20th, 27th. 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Country Western is a versatile style of social dance, perfect for weddings, rodeos, fairs, and all other social events. Not only does it provide an excellent, enjoyable form of exercise, it is also a great way to meet new friends and socialize! In this class, we will explore country Swing, Two Step, Cha Cha, Horseshoe and Scottische, as well as a dozen or so line dances. Everyone 13 and up is welcome! No experience or partner necessary. All participants should come dressed in comfortable workout clothes, and ready to have fun! Closed toed shoes are REQUIRED. Cost: $10.00 members/$15.00 non-members per class session

Advanced Beginner Ballet – Ages 8-12 years Instructor: Debbie Friedman Dates: Thursday, January 9 – February 20 (No class on January 23) Time: 4:15 – 5:15pm Age Requirements: 8 - 12 years (1-2 years previous training) Min #of students: 5 Max # of Students: 10 Supplies: Tights, leotard & ballet slippers Course cost: $48 for members/$72 for non-members (12 hours of instruction) This class will prepare dancers for more complex movements and some choreography but will still focus on correct placement and ballet technique. Strength, flexibility, fluidity and design/line components will all be included in this expression of the “inner ballerina”
